About Madoc Rocks
In 2002, Madoc Rocks was started, with the introduction of hand made rock coasters, showcasing the unique rock from the Madoc Ontario area. This area is at the edge of the Canadian Shield, where the volcanic rock meets sedimentary rock, and ancient tectonic forces have created unbelievable detailing and imagery within some of the rock.
In the last 22 years, we have produced hundreds of thousands of coasters, most of them stamped with images of wildlife and trees. The rock was diverse enough to allow us to use image appropriate rock for the different images.
Most of the rock was not image appropriate, some of it being incredibly detailed and imaged, and so began the pendants.
Some of this rock is very distinct, with incredulous imagery and detailing. Madoc Rocks is now concentrating on this exceptional rock for the production of artisan necklaces, using the experience gained over the last 22 years, to select, read and slice the rock, to reveal the unimagineable imagery inside, as can be seen in the pendants below.
